![LUKE FRIEND COLUMN: gigs, parties, rehearsals and much more]()
This is South Devon -- THE last couple of weeks have been really busy for me with gigs, parties, rehearsals and much more. I teamed up with my mate Nicholas McDonald for a local gig at the Rivera Centre, Torquay, which was awesome. Over 1,000 people came to see us which was brilliant. It was a mental gig and I saw many familiar faces in the audience. Fans travelled from all over the UK to see us. It was an unbelievable night. What was really nice for me was doing an X Factor-related gig close to home as the tour doesn't come close to Devon. I enjoyed being home and got chance to go to CEDA in Exeter which creates opportunities for both disabled children and adults. I went to see what the charity does and how they work. While there, I met a guy called Scott, who I absolutely love. He made a guitar, which I had a go at playing. It was a really lovely day and it will stay with me for a long time. I hope to go back there when the X Factor tour finishes. I also went to Belfast for a gig at The Kremlin earlier this month. I've always wanted to go to Ireland so it was rad to finally go and I'm lucky I get to go back when I'm on tour. It was a mental crowd and I loved it. My last few days have been spent in London, where I had time to chill and got to go the Big Brother wrap party at Elstree Studios, which was great fun. There was a massive mix of people there and I got to meet the contestants in the house, including Dappy and I also got to chat to the winner Jim Davidson, who was nice. I've also had a couple of days working on new songs with Jon Maguire and Roy Stride from Scouting for Girls. It's been a wicked experience and we're really gelling and getting on well. I'm now going into X Factor tour rehearsals, so I won't get the chance to see them for a while to finish what we've started. I now can't wait to get out there on the road and see everyone on tour. It will be brilliant seeing the Rough Copy lads again and all the other contestants. I always wanted to travel and now I'm combining my love of music and travel. I will also be putting on my boots and playing for Soccer Six which will be fun. It's also been revealed I'll be coming home to play Lemonfest on May 31. I played the festival before in Newton Abbot and can't wait to get back on stage.
