Never been so angry in my life: Josie Gibson speaks out after brother beaten up for being deaf This is Bristol -- Bristolian Big Brother star Josie Gibson has spoken out after her brother was allegedly beaten up for being deaf on a night out in Bristol. Last night she tweeted: "Never been so angry in my life. Sh***est birthday ever!" She said her brother's face was "swollen" and they would have to go back to hospital once the swelling goes down so doctors can assess the damage. Josie's little brother Harry was left profoundly deaf after being struck down by meningitis as a baby. In the early hours of yesterday morning she tweeted: "Lost all faith in man kind tonight. I went to the toilet and my brother got beaten up for being deaf!!! What a disgusting world we live in!" She then posted a photo of her brother covered in blood and said: "Im going to hunt the bullies who did this! The nicest guy ever was beaten up because they thought he was deaf & dumb." Josie was on a night out with friends and family celebrating her 29th birthday. The Mirror reports that Harry was approached by at least two men asking him for directions. When he started to sign a reply, rather than speaking aloud, they apparently turned on him and beat him up. Josie, who grew up in Yate, supports Kingswood-based charity Meningitis UK after seeing what the illness did to her younger brother when he was just a baby. She once told the Bristol Post: "We nearly lost Harry – it was touch and go. I know how lucky he was but there are many families who tragically lose loved ones or face life-altering after-effects due to this terrible disease." Avon and Somerset police spokesman Craig Evry said: "We have received a third-party report this afternoon of a man being assaulted at the Dojo Lounge nightclub on Park Row, Clifton, at about 2.30am this morning. The incident is now being looked into by officers." The Bristol Post has contacted Dojo for a comment but they have not responded yet. Reported by This is 21 hours ago.
