CITY of Hull Boxing Club fighters were involved in a thrilling show, aptly called Night of Explosion, at the Walton Street Club in Hull.
The Gibbons brothers are now performing on a good level.
Liam, 14, faced double national champion, Tri Nations gold medallist and England international James McMeakin (Shildon).
Producing a master class performance, Gibbons covered up when he needed to, and picked his bigger opponent off with timely body shots and straight shots down the middle. He won on a unanimous decision in arguably his biggest win from his 17 victories in 21 bouts.
Big brother Ryan kept his unbeaten senior record, when he out-boxed Andrew Winter (Shildon).
A display of superb speed, footwork and counter punching saw the City of Hull southpaw slip the shots of his North East opponent, and countered well to the head and body.
Winter, who was last year's Junior ABA National Finalist, found himself chasing the fight in the final round and made a late rally, but Gibbons held strong and a points win was well-earned.
Another set of City of Hull Boxing Club brothers, James and Thomas Hadley, also clocked up wins.
Younger brother James faced Joshua Thompson (Grimsby).
It was a close affair as both lads wanted to stand and trade, but young Hadley had the busier work rate that caught the judges eye as he won on a points decision.
Big brother Thomas marked his City return with a third round stoppage win over Tyler Stewart (Market District, Leeds).
In a solid performance from start to finish, Hadley took charge behind the longer reach, and used this to great advantage.
He was well ahead on points going into the final round where he stepped things up, forcing the referee to wave it off to earn Hadley his first stoppage win on his unbeaten record.
Doohan Blackburn and Harrison Prest overcame hard opponents to earn their first career points wins, while solid performances were put in by Jordan Watson, Sam Johnson and Aaron Horsefield.
City of Hull ABC debuts were handed to young Bailey Miller, Sophie Sansam and Lewis Wood who boxed in skills contests. Alex Sutton came close in his challenge of Sheffield's Tommy Frank for the 54kg Yorkshire Bantamweight strap, but was edged out on a close points decision.
Sutton was the aggressor in pretty much most of the contest, but was being picked off by the tricky counter puncher, who was making his first defence of his belt.
Despite winning the opening round, Sutton had it all to do in the later stages of the title fight, Frank just edging it by a majority decision in the end.
Head coach Mike Gibbons said: "This club is not about one person, it's about a big family here at City of Hull. We all have a job to do and we do it together.
"From the back room staff, coaches, to the boxers themselves, we all can be very proud of what was a spectacular evening of amateur boxing.
"I'm very proud of where the club is at the moment and we are all looking forward to the season ahead."
