BIG Brother star Josie Gibson says she will be making regular trips to Yate so she can wash her smalls at her mum's new laundrette.
Josie's mum Amanda was joined by friends and family on Saturday to mark the opening of the new Yate laundrette at Cranleigh Court Road. Amanda will be running the laundrette with son Josh, 22.
Amanda and Josh spent £48,000 on refitting the former estate agency with four new washers and driers.
Josie, 28, who won Channel 4's Big Brother three years ago, said: "I will be washing my smalls here. I may as well now mum has got a laundrette.
"Mind you, I need to get a storage container really, the amount of clothes I have got.
"The laundrette will be like EastEnders but with more gossip."
Amanda, who worked as a horse trainer, said she hopes the laundrette will become a community hub.
She decided to set up the laundrette after conducting a survey among the local community.
She said: "We have not had a laundrette in the area for the last 15 years and I thought one was needed.
"I carried out a survey among the local community and had some good feedback so decided to go for it.
"I live a few hundred metres up the road and it is great to be able to open a business on my doorstep.
"I really hope the laundrette will become a hub of the community where people will come and do their washing and have a natter."
Amanda also plans to offer an ironing service at the laundrette, creating two part-time jobs.
Josie performed the laundrette's official opening, which was attended by around 100 people.
As well as helping out with the opening, Josie has been busy with her career, qualifying to become a personal trainer, and filming a television show about yo-yo dieting.
She is also writing a self-help book, packed full of dieting tips, and an autobiography. She is planning to pen a cookbook.
Josie has been giving her views on this year's series of Big Brother on the show Big Brother's Bit On The Side, co-hosted by The X Factor star Rylan Clark.
Josie said: "I have really enjoyed doing Big Brother's Bit On The Side and Rylan is great fun. He is the same on screen as he is off screen."
Josie, who lives in Fishponds, found fame in 2010 when she appeared on Big Brother and became the most popular person to appear on the reality show.
Since leaving the programme she has stayed in the public eye both as a television presenter and an agony aunt.
She has also launched her own perfume, written magazine columns for the likes of Now, worked as a plus-size model, recorded voiceovers, worked as a wedding planner and appeared on various television programmes.
She also appeared in pantomime, as Genie of the Lamp, in front of crowds of 2,000 at the Hippodrome. Reported by This is 17 hours ago.
