Events in movie scheduled for 2016 release to take place a decade after those in previous instalment X-Men: Days of Future Past
Superhero movie X-Men: Apocalypse will take place in 1983, according to writer Simon Kinberg.
The much-hyped sequel will therefore be set 10 years after the events of current release X-Men: Days of Future Past, which features a time-travelling storyline. Kinberg revealed the timeline in a brief aside while discussing the potential appearances of various iconic X-Men characters such as Jean Grey, Cyclops and Storm in future films.
